It would be nice to have links to your team’s work and publications. I am sure that everyone is proud of each other however how would readers know if a subscription was supporting science that was actually moving toward breakthrough. Perhaps making your teams work available would increase subscriptions.
Hi! Absolutely - you can find all of our NIH-funded research available via open access on Pubmed. Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve added a button to the end of this post titled “Read Our Scientific Papers” that will bring you directly to those research articles.
I also share deep dives behind the science here on Substack into new papers when they are published. Our latest work highlighted in today’s post is in the pipeline to be published, so stay tuned :)
Since 1990, I have been growing medicinal plants from around the world focusing on native US species and others that help regulate and enhance the immune system. Since there was very little modern research for public benefit being funded on natural plant pharmacology at that time, I resorted to my great grandmother’s midwife diary and Culpepper’s Complete Herbal. As years passed I enlarged my reference into Chinese and Ayurvedic sources. For 25 years I was my own “lab rat” and health coach. I am now focusing on Lyme since I have found that modern medicine knows very little about the effective cure to such an engineered chronic disease. I look forward to exploring your teams work and hope that in your near future you join me in solving the Borrelia burgdorferi plague that modern medicine avoids and I believe is a catalyst for many of our current chronic diseases. Being out in the wild, foraging and exploring year round, am a victim of Lyme and due to my self treatment protocol and I am PROUD to say a recovering survivor. Best of luck to you and the team.
Congratulations on your herbal collection and studies! As an intracellular organism, Borellia is a challenge to study, and we need much more research on it. We haven't tried working on it yet, but it is on my radar as an area of unmet need for research.
So much great news all at once! In the current environment it's almost overwhelming. ;-) So many well deserved awards! I am really happy for you and your team! Wishing all your new students a great experience at Emory and your graduates much success in the future! It doesn't seem like that won't be much of an issue for this group though. :-) Looking forward to huge breakthroughs in treatments, discovered in your lab, becoming commercially available in the next decade! Big congrats to all!
Well done all of you!!! I am so very grateful for all your hard work and perseverance especially in this current political environment !!! Don’t stop!!
Congratulations to you and the team. We appreciate you aging the spotlight on their outstanding achievements. To date 🏆 And look forward to what they ~ and you ~ will accomplish in the future. So very inspiring. Good luck in your nee, focused journey.

So much exciting news! Thanks for the update and congrats on all the good things!
Thank you!
Looks like you and your department are doing well despite all the general chaos in government and education. Happy for you!
Thank you! We’re pouring our energy and enthusiasm into the science with our students. We just have to keep pushing forward as we are able.
